The last night with Aunt June

After dinner we went to a little park down the street to get some pictures with Aunt June. I realized that we had been so busy I had never taken my camera with us so here are a few. It was a nice park visit but if we had not had bug spray the mosquitos would surely have carried us off! RJ took the pictures of Aunt June and I and besides the fingerprint smudge on the lense he did a nice job!

The Absolutely Beautiful July 5th

The day after the 4th, Aunt June rested at home and we went on the boat around 1:30ish. The boys slept on the way out there (all three of them) and then we went to Spring Lake to Hanky Panky cove. There were so many boats but we found a place to anchor and the boys were able to do their first swimming of the summer off the boat. RJ even got up the courage to jump off the bow with Daddy! At one point the boys were watching Scooby Doo in the cabin and Rob and I got to jump off into the water together. We could pretend we were there just the two of us. What a thought! The boys didn't fight and Rob said he didn't age 2 years in a matter of 15 minutes like he usually does! :-) It was a wonderful day and we got home around 8:30pm and finished off the night with a dip in the hot tub!

Fourth of July

Rob spent the day out on the boat with one of his friends while Aunt June and I let the boys nap and then went to the family cookout. We then met Rob on the boat for the fireworks. The boys were not as thrilled as we thought but oh well! It was still a great time!

Eventhough I would lean more towards not having a TV sometimes you can't deny the fact that they are nice to have! Here the boys watched Scooby Doo in the boat cabin until the battery ran out, then it was a bit chaotic since it was night time and no swimming was to be done!

Picking Strawberries

We went to a local strawberry farm so all the boys could experience picking berries. We picked about five pounds and now am not sure what to do with them :-) I was not a fan of the jam I made a few years ago. We will make a strawberry ruhbarb pie and then maybe just eat lots of fresh berries. Tomorrow will be strawberry pancakes for breakfast for me! After picking we went back to the farm house and got to see pigs, cows, chickens, roosters, a bunny and Alex's favorite two friendly cats. It was a fun morning and we will probably return again.

Our First Boat Outing of the 2008 Season

After Rob came home from work we had the boat put in and took a short ride. The water was actually warm enough to swim in but due to the heavy rains we had the water was pretty yucky looking and we didn't want to chance a case of Ecoli. We will wait until the weekend when the water clears out. Matthew is big enough to walk down into the cabin this year so it is much more relaxing then jumping up each time he went by the steps. They all loved being on the boat and we are looking forward to more boating, tubing and swimming this summer!

Alexander's 4th Birthday

We had a great birthday for Alexander. In all there were about 30 people. We grilled out and had homemade Mac and Cheese, Baked Beans and a bunch of other food. The kids got to do a Bat Man Pinata and we missed the rain just by a little bit.
